Gaudencio Aquino Sillona III is a famous RnB singer of the Philippines. He is widely known as Jay-R and dubbed as the ”R&B Prince of the country” as Kyle the RnB Princess. He is the most promising male RnB phenomenon that ever hit the local music scene. He derived his inspiration from the likes of Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross and Brian McNight.
Jay-R was born on February 1, 1981 on Glendale, California, USA. He stands 5’10” weighs 165 lbs. He was raised in Los Angeles and studied Computer Engineering in Devry University of L.A. When he is second year in college, he stopped college and decided to leave L.A. for the Philippines to become a singer.
Jay-R is a musician by heart. He is a former member of the group named FI or First Impression. It comprised 5 males namely: Mike Gabriel, Alex Bacani, Owen Amurao, Jimmy Martinez and Jay R Sillona. When the first three members left the band, Jimmy and Jay R decided to continue the band and invited a talented singer named Kris Cadevida, known as Kris Lawrence.
They performed gigs in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Michigan. Jay R was also a member of The Howlers, a band of his uncle, Robert Sillona. His participation of the band is very crucial for Jay R for it taught him the ways of the stage.
