BB Gandanghari (born Rustom Cariño-Padilla on September 4, 1967) is a Filipino transsexual actress, commercial model. She is the elder sibling to actors Rommel and Robin Padilla and younger sibling to Royette Padilla.
In January 2009, after returning from the United States, Padilla came out as a transsexual and changed her name to BB Gandanghari.
Padilla was born to Carlos Roy Padilla and Eva Carino. She has 7 siblings, 3 brothers and 4 sisters In 1994, Padilla married Carmina Villaroel who filed for annulment after several months. It was granted in June 2002.
She became one of the 14 housemates in Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition. On March 2, 2006, she came out of the closet on the show by telling fellow housemate Keanna Reeves that she is gay On day 45 of the competition, Rustom opted to voluntarily leave the house.
In January 2009, Padilla came out as a transsexual. She plans to undergo sex reassignment operation. Her brother, action star Robin Padilla, says he fully accepts his brother's new identity.
As Rustom Padilla, she hosted a franchised version of Wheel of Fortune on ABC 5. After her hosting stint, Rustom left the Philippines and studied filmmaking in the US.
Padilla appeared in the film version of the comic book Zsazsa Zaturnnah as the gay salon owner Ada (Adrian), alter ego of Zsazsa Zaturnnah, in TV series La Vendetta via GMA 7 and movie Happy Hearts. She was also a cast of ABS-CBN's Eva Fonda.
In 2009, Gandanghari hosted the National Kidlat Awards in Boracay, Philippines. She appeared again in SRO Cinema Serye.
