Bea Alonzo, or Phylbert Angellie Ranollo in real life, was born on of October, 17, 1987. She was raised single-handedly by her mom. Even at a very young age, it has always been Bea's dream to become a famous movie actress.
She started joining beauty contests when she was small, considering pageants as stepping stones to reach her ultimate goal of becoming a star. During one of these contests, fashion designer Oscar Peralta spotted her and introduced her to some key people in show business who opened oportunities for Filipina-British girl. She auditioned and made it as one of the members of ABS-CBN Talent Center’s Star Circle Batch 10.
Bea Alonzo was given the biggest break of her acting career when the hit series Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay was offered to her. She was paired with John Lloyd Cruz and their team up was so well-received. This love-team propelled Bea’s career into a new heights. She admits that paring to a famous co-star was her ticket to stardom. In this same TV series where her acting talent was noticed and she earned the nomination for Best Actress in a TV Drama. As fans of their tandem continues to grow, more and more opportunities opened for Bea as well as John Lloyd. This on-screen partnership was featured in three more TV Drama series. “It Might Be You”, “Ikaw Ang Lahat Sa Akin”, and “Maging Sino Ka Man”.
Their tandem was brought into four movies including “My First Romance” where she also bagged the “Best New Movie Actress” at the PMPC Star Awards. This young actress was also paired to a famous Filipino hunk Piolo Pascual in the movie, “Dreamboy”.
She is very happy with the direction of her career now and enjoying the fruits of her labor. As of this writing, Bea is currently an endorser of 14 products including Creamsilk, Johnson’s Face Powder and Avon. Through show business, she felt more financially independent and just recently bought a two-bedroom condominium in Eastwood Libis in Pasig City. Bea Alonzo plans to continue her education in UP Diliman and will be taking up Mass Communication as she thinks that Journalism is her true calling.
