Gerald Anderson: Primetime Drama Prince

Gerald Randolph Anderson, Jr., more popularly known as Gerald Anderson, was born on March 7, 1989, in Subic Bay, Zambales.  His father, Gerald Randy Anderson, Sr., is a White American instructor in the Philippine Navy who travels back and forth between the United States and Zambales.  Her mother,  Evangeline Opsima, is a Filipina from General Santos City, South Cotabato, Mindanao, Philippines.

Gerald was only three years old when he and his family moved to San Antonio, Texas. He is the eldest in a brood of four children, with 2 older sisters and one younger brother. He was already 14 years old when his family returned to General Santos City.

Anderson entered showbiz through actor Joross Gamboa who discovered the multi-lingual lad while performing in his hometown. Gamboa introduced Anderson to his manager, Jhun Reyes, who then brought him to ABS-CBN to join PBB: Teen Edition. The rest as they say is showbiz history!

Gerald rose to fame when he placed third overall in the first Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition. After PBB, Anderson and co-housemate Kim Chiu have appeared together in several shows on the ABS-CBN Network and have been tapped to do several television advertisements and product endorsements. Anderson also worked on a primetime television series entitled Sana Maulit Muli with Chiu.

In 2008, Anderson and Chiu launched their second and third teleseryes with ABS-CBN entitled My Girl and My Only Hope. Anderson and Chiu had a Primetime Bida in 2009 with Jake Cuenca entitled Tayong Dalawa.

Anderson became the twentieth millionaire on the game show Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal, which aired February 2, 2009, after winning two million Philippine pesos with co-star Cuenca.

Anderson was also part of the drama series Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo, starring Kim Chiu, Gabby Concepcion, and Kris Aquino. In addition, his second movie with Chiu was released as Star Cinema's opening entry for 2010 entitled Paano Na Kaya?

Till My Heartaches End , his last movie project with erstwhile love team Kim Chiu was a huge hit. During a press conference for the said film, Gerald broke down in front of the audience while apologizing to Kim for his indiscretions.  The young actor allegedly received death threats after breaking up with Chiu and dating actress Bea Alonzo.

Gerald was then paired up with Pop Princess Sarah Geronimo in the movie Catch Me, I'm In Love which was a blockbuster hit.  The two will be working together again in the upcoming film Won't Last A Day Without You.

On television, Gerald currently plays the lead character in Budoy.
