Sharon Cuneta to host two new weekend shows; Gretchen Barretto joins cast of ‘Juan dela Cruz’

Sharon CunetaAfter the cancellation of her daily afternoon talk show, Sharon: Kasama Mo, Kapatid in January, the camp of Sharon Cuneta is reportedly in talks with the Kapatid network for new projects for the Megastar. Sharon’s manager, Viva Entertainment’s Vic del Rosario, said the projects include two weekend shows. The formats of the new shows are still being conceptualized.

Sharon Cuneta left for abroad after Sharon: Kasama Mo, Kapatid got the axe early this year. When she returned, rumors saying that the Megastar is talking with ABS-CBN executives for a possible return to the Kapamilya network surfaced but she quickly denied these reports saying that she cannot leave the network as she is in contract with TV5 for 5 years.  

Sharon: Kasama Mo, Kapatid was unceremoniously cancelled after its lackluster performance in the ratings game. The show only lasted for 8 months. It was the first project and only project that the Megastar did for TV5 since transferring from ABS-CBN in November 2011. She signed a 5-year contract with TV5, said to be worth P1 billion, the biggest network deal for a local celebrity to date.

Gretchen Barretto in ‘Juan dela Cruz’

Controversial actress Gretchen Barretto was seen recently on the set of the hit Kapamilya fantaserye, Juan dela Cruz, starring Coco Martin and Erich Gonzales. The beautiful actress, who was last seen as Ashi Behati in Princess and I, was sighted somewhere in Quiapo where the top-rating series is being shot. La Greta herself posted her photo with Erich in her Instagram account, confirming reports that she is the newest member of the cast. The two actresses first worked together in Magkaribal.

Gretchen is reportedly taking the role first offered to Sunshine Cruz who is currently dealing with marital issues with husband Cesar Montano.
