Controversial host-comedian Willie Revillame shocked his fans, both in the studio and at their homes, when he insinuated on Wil Time Bigtime last night that the show will cease to air after January 5, 2013.
According to Revillame, he will announce his decision whether to quit or keep on with the show on the said date. “January 5, abangan ninyo, mag-a-announce ako ng desisyon kung ako’y magtutuloy pa sa programang ito… Talagang i-a-announce ko na kung ano ang gusto kong gawin. January 5 ‘yan.” he said.
Revillame also told his production staff and dancers to start looking for other opportunities: “Sa lahat ng aking staff, mga dancers, basta kayo ay maghanap-hanap na ng dapat ninyong puntahan.”
He added that the TV5 management already know of his plan and that they respected his decison. “Nagpaalam na ako sa management. Sabi nila, ‘Ikaw ang bahala, ‘yan ang desisyon mo,” explained Revillame.
But Revillame reiterated that he and his show will continue to give out huge prizes up to his last days in the Kapatid network. “Pero magmula ngayong araw hanggang sa Pasko po, magbibigay ako ng todo-todong papremyo sa inyo—yung mga huling araw ko dito,” he assured his fans.
During the live telecast of Wil Time Bigtime on November 24, Willie Revillame confirmed that the show is indeed ending by early January next year. He, however, assured the studio audience and viewers at home that there is a new show coming up after a short hiatus and urged fans to watch out for his announcement on January 5, 2012.
Revillame added that he will be joined by his co-hosts and the entire production staff for the new show which will be staged in a new and bigger studio to accommodate more audience. The new show’s venue will also provide comfortable resting and dining areas for those who wish to watch the live program. He added that the audience will feel right at home in the new studio, especially those coming from the provinces. The host also mentioned that TV5 is involved in the show’s move to a new studio so speculations about Revilleme’s alleged transfer to another network are immediately quashed.
Before ending his spiel, Willie Revillame asked the audience to say “Wow na Wow, Willie,” which could very well be the new show’s title.
